Fashion Week 2017, which kicked off on February 10, is the first year that alt fashion has truly been able to be a thing.
It’s been a wild ride, with alt fashion fashion artists being crowned the 2017 High Fashion Awards and the first alt fashion album to be nominated for a Grammy.
We spoke to the creators of the alt fashion genre about the first few months of alt style, and what it’s like to be the first person to break into the fashion world.1.
What are your inspirations for the style?
I really love vintage and retro.
My style is inspired by my childhood.
I started to wear my vintage clothes, which I’ve always been into, and I think my style really came from my childhood because my dad wore a lot of vintage stuff.
I’m a huge fan of vintage and it’s kind of like an identity, but it’s not a specific thing, it’s an expression of who I am and my personality.2.
What kind of clothes have you chosen to wear in the style, or have you just been using what you’ve got?
I’ve always worn vintage clothes.
I have a big collection of vintage clothes and my favourite things are vintage.
I’ve got vintage accessories, I have vintage shoes, I’ve had vintage hair and makeup and my favorite things are my vintage outfits.3.
Who are your influences?
I’m inspired by a lot different artists.
I like a lot more vintage fashion, I love the vintage, the vintage style, the avant-garde and the modern era.
I love a lot about the avance-gardes, the modern period and vintage.4.
How did you get into fashion?
I started to dress vintage at the age of six.
I had a lot in the closet.
I was really into clothes and the way they looked, the way I wore them.
I remember dressing like a princess and my dad would come home from work and I would look at him and say, “Why are you looking at me?”
