LONDONDURAN, N.L. — 50s Fashion Week kicks off Thursday in London.
The fashion event kicks off at 10 a.m. in a venue on Londons south side.
It will run through Sunday.
The event features designer shows, the first ever exhibition from London’s Victoria and Albert Museum, a first for a British museum, and live performances.
The Victoria and Alan museum, which opened in 1959, is the world’s oldest surviving British art museum.
The Victoria, as it is known, has been the focus of a decade-long public inquiry into the museum’s preservation.
Its staff and visitors were called in for the first time to assess its condition.
The public inquiry found “no evidence” that the museum could survive and asked for the museum to be closed until the state of preservation was met.
In June, the Victoria and Alsace Museum opened.
Victoria and Albert is one of three British museums to reopen after being closed since the 1960s.
