As the nominations came rolling in, it was a shock to many fans when Peter Williams got the nomination for Best Actor in a Motion Picture or Dramatic Series.
The actor, best known for his roles in the TV series “Homeland” and “The Leftovers,” was also nominated for his work in “The Dark Knight Rises.”
Williams, who also plays the role of Frank Underwood in the upcoming “Game of Thrones,” was nominated for the award in both categories.

Williams received two nominations for his performance in the drama series “The Night Manager” and one for “Game Of Thrones.”
He was also a finalist in the Best Actor for his role in “Dark Knight Rides Again.”
In the TV show, Williams played Detective Joe Sacco, a retired cop with the NYPD, who has lost his temper and turned against the city.
The show was based on the book of the same name by John le Carré.
The nominations are a huge win for Williams and his fellow actors, who will be making their debut in the “Game” series.
He will be joining his fellow stars in the series, which debuts on HBO on February 24.
